AB Tutor Control will run on a memory stick, to achieve this installation, please follow the instructions below:

Notes to remember:

1.     We recommend you install AB Tutor onto a memory stick using a PC that doesn’t have AB Tutor already installed – this prevents any confusion in which licence is being activated

2.     You must install and activate AB Tutor onto the memory stick BEFORE you request that it be configured to work as a mobile device.

3.     When you start AB Tutor to activate your licence, run the abcontrol.exe direct from the memory stick.

4.     Until we have configured your memory stick installation, you will get an error message should you try to use the memory stick on different computers.

Installation Instructions:

1.     Make sure that you have a memory stick with at least 16 MB free space.

2.     Check, that you are allowing AB Tutor Control to access the Internet on the computer to which you have attached the memory stick.

3.     Download the AB Tutor Control Installation file (abtcsetup.msi) from your account in the licence management system. To log onto the system, go to www.abtutorcontrol.com or click the 'My Account' link on our website www.abconsulting.com.  Look for the 'Download V.x' buttons at the top of your account home page.

4.     Run the .msi, making sure that you select your memory stick drive as the installation drive for AB Tutor Control (e.g. f:\). 

5.     Start AB Tutor Control using the abcontrol.exe on your memory stick.

6.     Activate your software by clicking on ‘help’ – ‘licence activation’ and entering your account serial number.

If you wish to install the software on more than one memory stick, repeat the above process for each memory stick.  Please make sure that you give a unique name to each memory stick installation.  You will have activation problems if you try and register 5 installations all with the same name e.g. 'Teachers USB'.

7.     Make a note of all the installations you have just made on memory sticks and send an email to register@abconsulting.com , stating that you would like to set up your installations for use on a memory stick, with the following information:

Your Account Name
Your Account Number
The names of all the installations that you would like set up for use as memory sticks.

8.     We will then configure your installations to run from memory sticks and send you a confirmation email.

9.     Take the memory stick to another machine and run the AB Tutor Control EXE directly from the memory stick.

10.   You will once again need to activate the licence by clicking on ‘help’ – ‘licence activation’ and enter your licence number.

Once the steps above have been completed, AB Tutor Control will run from the memory stick in any new machine without prompting you to register.
