The 10061 error code, 'No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it'  typically occurs when software such as a firewall (including the XP firewall) or Internet/Virus protection software on the client machine is blocking AB Tutor Control from connecting to it.

If your clients are Windows XP, we have created a step-by-step guide to help users get AB Tutor Control to function in that environment - see Windows XP Firewall Info .pdf.

Also check that other Firewall software is not blocking access (e.g. Norton Internet security or McAfee Security Centre etc.) AB Tutor Control uses TCP/IP port 5151 (TCP and UDP), so you need to make sure nothing is blocking this port on both protocols.  If you have both the tutor program and the client software installed on your PC, please ensure port 5152 (both TCP and UDP)  is also not blocked.
