Is there a way to stop particular websites - or particular images - coming up on an Image Search in google. My year 9s have discovered that if they type a search term of [This has been edited out by Administrator] into google images they get 4-5 pages of thumbnail pornographic pictures. They can't open any of them - the sites are all blocked - but a screen full of these images is quite sufficient to disrupt the class.
We had this issue for ages, but have now overcome it thanks to a new deployment of proxy software. If your proxy server provides the necessary functionality, you'd need to append the safesearch parameter to the end of all requests to google images. Alternatively, block google images and point them towards picsearch.com or similar.
