Control while remote computer has lock screen message

Is there a way of having the lock screen message up and still being able to control the computer similar to the blank screen option? I ask this because when I have used blank screen it puts a black screen on the remote computer and if a student goes into the room and wants to use that computer they restart it because they think it’s not working.
