I would like a feature to be included whereby you could filter which computers are shown when you click the find button in AB Tutor Control.
For Example: You could filter the list of computer found to include computers that are currently loggeed in or logged out or have a certain policy set on them.
This type of feature would make it easy to shut clients down at the end of the day, with out making the mistake of shutting down a computer that is still being used.
The above is a perfect example of where this feature could be used to good effect |

In the mean time, you may be interested to know it is possible to achieve scheduled shutdown of remote (idle) computers with the free command line tool: Beyondexec, specifically using the -n parameter.
I have it set up on a single computer with Windows Task Scheduler to run every 15 mins (with -n) from the end of school, then at 18:00 I shutdown regardless of whether someone is logged on, giving them the option to abort. |
