We have CC3 (which I'm sure redirects the user's start menu to a location in their profile), we also have some vanilla XP clients, which redirects the start menu to a central location on the server.

I've found that on both setups, when viewing a user's screen, sometimes we can expand the start menu and view the contents of all programs, but when we try to expand the contents of one of the subfolders (eg Accessories), it won't expand. Has anyone else seen this?

I've also found that this intermittent issue also affects menus in applications such as MS Office.

Should anyone else experience this issue, I found that it (and another internet policy issue) was caused by standard users (ie students) not having any access to the abcontrol folder, in which the client app resides. Granting read/execute permission to the content of this folder resolved it.
