Having used the v5 beta client on a pilot server, I installed v5.08 client on my production server but unfortunately I seemed to experience performance problems. The server utilisation according to taskman appeared to be normal, with processor averaging around 30% and memory normal. The ABClient processes used barely any memory at all. However, server performance (console) and any client sessions were very poor. Logon took forever, scripts were intermittenty executed. Sessions froze randomly.
Removal of the client seemed to allow the server to resume normally.
To give you an idea of the setup, this is a 2003SP2 terminal server (32bit) with two quad core 1.6ghz xeon, 4GB RAM. There are up to 40 clients, most of which connect with a HP t5135. The clients are set to auto-connect persistently. So, they connect to the server at the logon screen, then disconnect and reconnect after 2 minutes of nobody logging on.
I'd like to get an idea of the size/type of TS deployments with ABTC v5 installed. Any suggestions for possible causes would be very welcome. Cheers. |
