A need to monitor and control computer use centrally

With a change to the network at Lode Heath School, they identified a need for some software that enabled both teachers and ICT administrators to use centrally, to monitor and control computer use across the school. After trying several different options that proved unsatisfactory, the school choose classroom management software, AB Tutor Control.

The school has approx 1000 students, with 75 staff and over 320 PC's and laptops in 8 rooms, so they needed a classroom management software product that enabled them to effectively monitor and control these disparate resources. They also wanted to have the software installed on two administrator machines located in an ICT office.

Having heard positive reviews of AB Tutor Control and realising how cost effective it was for a school of their size, they decided to go ahead and run a test AB Tutor Control. The test went very smoothly and they soon upgraded the whole school set-up onto the new software.

Saves time for administrators

For the ICT administrators, using AB Tutor Control has cut out many visits to classrooms for the many software issues that arise during the school day. Teachers can quickly demonstrate the problem remotely, enabling the administrators to resolve it easily and in a timely manner. If further explanation or communication is needed, the AB Tutor Control Chat function is used.

It has resulted in the ICT administrators being able to provide a much better and quicker service, by diagnosing and resolving many problems, without the time consuming walk to the classroom. The school has estimated that this must save them at least 6 hours a week in administration time.

"Both the ICT teachers and administrators found AB Tutor Control to be extremely useful and we decided to buy licenses for all the ICT teachers and an extra one for the ICT Office."
