AB Tutor is committed to protecting the privacy of all its users. This privacy policy summarises the information that is collected about you on this website (including through the online licensing system)

Use and disclosure of information

AB Tutor collects and uses data about you to operate and improve its sites and deliver the services or carry out the transactions you have requested. These uses may include providing you with more effective customer service; making the sites or services easier to use; performing research and analysis aimed at improving our products, services and technologies; and displaying content and advertising that are customized to your interests and preferences.

We also use your personal information to communicate with you. We will respect your email privacy so you will receive unsolicited mail from AB Tutor only if you have agreed to this. You can at any time opt out of receiving such unsolicited mail by logging into your account at abtutor.com and changing your marketing preferences. We may send you certain mandatory service communications such as welcome letters, billing reminders, information on technical service and licensing issues, and security announcements to ensure continuity of the service we provide to you.

We undertake that any personal data will not be disclosed to any third party except to any sub-contractor acting on behalf of ABT or to an authorised reseller of AB Tutor from time to time and then only as strictly necessary, or to any purchaser of ABT's business and assets, unless we have your prior consent.

We may access and/or disclose your personal information if we believe such action is necessary to: (a) comply with the law or legal process served on AB Tutor; (b) protect and defend the rights or property of AB Tutor (including the enforcement of our agreements); (c) to operate our systems properly or (d) to protect our users or members of the public.

AB Tutor follows the relevant legal requirements and uses all reasonable precautions to ensure only legitimate third parties see your personal information, however we are not responsible for any breach of security or any actions of any third parties who receive the information.

Should we, for any reason, elect to change our policy we will notify you of those changes here, so that you are always kept informed of how we collect and use the information and when we would disclose it.

We only retain your personal information for as long as necessary to complete our business with you. You may request your information is deleted under the “Right to be Forgotten” and you can do so by contacting us at admin@abtutor.com and requesting this. We automatically remove user's personal details from our systems if the user account has not been logged into for more than 4 years.

You are able to change your mind and request we delete your data at any time by logging in to your user account and changing your preferences. If you decide that you no longer wish us to retain your user details we will remove them from our systems within 45 days. You can change your mind up until we remove them by logging in and changing your preferences. Please note that the maximum time we will take to remove your details is 45 days, however we may remove them at any time up to 45 days.

What information do we collect?

We collect information about our users at various points in the website.

1. When visiting the website

We may collect information about your visit, including the pages you view, the links you click and other actions taken in connection with AB Tutor sites and services. We may also collect certain standard information that your browser sends to every website you visit, such as your IP address, browser type and language, access times and referring Web site addresses.

2. When downloading software

When you download our software, we also collect the following data:

  • your name and contact details
  • your organisation details
  • how you heard about AB Tutor

3. When purchasing software

When you purchase our software online, we also collect the following data:

  • your name and contact details
  • your organisation details
  • details of licences purchased
  • Our merchant services, Worldpay also collect and hold data on these purchasers. For more information, please read WorldPay's privacy policy.

4 When using the online licence management system

Accounts in the online licence management system contain personal and organisational details obtained during the process of ordering and purchasing the software. The system will also log account activities, including registrations, licence activations and verifications.

Accessing Your Personal Information

Through our online licence management system, you may have the ability to view or edit your personal, organisation and licensing information online. In order to help prevent your person information from being viewed by others, you will be required to sign in with your credentials (e-mail address and password). It is your responsibility to keep your password confidential. Do not share this information with anyone. If you are sharing a computer with anyone you should always choose to log out before leaving a site or service to protect access to your information from subsequent users.
